    Shimmering Sword, my self-published book about Star Wars lightsaber fighting, was picked up by McFarland Publishing in 2008.

    I've since written articles on Star Wars, been interviewed online and on TV, and I continue working on writing my debut novel.

  • Star Wars Connection

    When I came back from Japan in 1999, I found myself an expert on Japanese martial arts on threadboards just as Episode I: The Phantom Menace was about to premiere. I wrote and self-published Shimmering Sword, followed by a revised edition entitled Sword Fighting in the Star Wars Universe.

  • Star Wars Fan Film

    I was fight coordinator for the Panic Struck Production Star Wars fan film in 2005. They said, why not make me the bad guy as well. It was the first truly professional fan film to debut on the early internet, garnering millions of views and almost a million downloads.

  • Martial Arts

    I competed in the World Fencing Championships and the World University Games in 1987. Then studied Aikido in Washington, DC, and then in Tokyo, Japan where I also studied kendo. Japanese staff (jodo) has been my latest martial art.
